Bond Referendum for Buildings
Vote on or before May 13
On December 18, 2024, the Cedar Mountain School Board voted unanimously to ask voters to consider a one question bond referendum during a Special Election on May 13, 2025. The School Board and District Leaders, working with educational facility experts, performed an assessment of the school district’s facilities to determine the following urgent needs:
Replace aging and failing building systems/infrastructure.
Improve school safety and security.
Remodel and renovate spaces to meet the educational needs of all students.
Research shows that student learning is directly impacted by failing school infrastructure. We are confident that with these improvements, students of the Cedar Mountain School District will have educational opportunities equal to their peers in neighboring school districts and program spaces that inspire students for a successful future.
Additionally, the proposed bond referendum for buildings is a cost-effective investment that maintains schools in both communities. And the proposed referendum has a low tax impact to district residents as it is designed to receive numerous tax credits.
Educating and informing all residents about the referendum is a big task. We are working hard to reach everyone before Election Day, May 13.
As the proverb says, “It takes a village to raise a child;” we continue to engage all residents so all children can learn and grow in a safe and healthy environment.
